A Quick Jaunt to NC

Cade has some business back in North Carolina so I decided to tag along and we had a great 2 days together to discover some beautiful places back East. We went to the Biltmore Estate which is the USAs largest privately owned house. IT was built in the 1800s and it is amazing. If you ever get a chance to see it do! I was amazed by the trees on the sides of the road, everytime I go back East I wonder what we are doing living in this desert!
The house has 4 acres of floor space, 50plus bedrooms and 43 bathrooms with running water, a bowling alley and indoor swimming pool in the basement and the most gorgeous Dining Room, To todays standards its amazing.
The Estate covers 8000 acres of forest and meadow land, This is the French Broad River running through it. If we would have had more time you can kayak or raft down it.
Some beautiful scenery from the meticulousy kept Estate. We had a great time and hope to have another get away to a fun place soon, And Cades business meeting did go well so the trip was worth it!!!

Camping fun

We had a great time with friends camping last weekend. Its fun getting away for a night and only having to drive a little over an hour to be at a great place.
For those of you who havent been to Pacheco ,on the way up one of my favorite places is where in the rocks you can see wagon ruts from the pioneers who used to live there and drove their wagons hundreds of times over and up rocky roads. In this picture you see its right below the blue writing.

The beginning...

Yesterday marked the beginning of many things. A New School, New friends <> A new everyday attire, He will be sporting the Green or Gray polos for the next 6 years, Mornings that are busier with kids leaving at different times, Lunch hours that are all screwy, Yes my kids come home for lunch every day but now the younger ones come at 12 and Bay comes half hour later which means another couple extra trips up and down the hill each day for me, New afternoon schedules vacation schedules and Last but the biggest change of all is the NEW picture spot. For the last 8 years I have taken first day pictures by our hydrangeas, but this year ... I havent found a good place yet! But doesnt he look handsome, and so grown up ready for jr. high.
Cade got after me because I tried taking pictures of him at school, Well this one is of him running to meet me at lunch time. Hes not embarrassed of me yet!

Pardon me, but would you have any Grey Poupon?

Another new addition to the family. I feel like I should be driving in Europe. A girl was selling this so she could go to college, we couldnt resist! Baylor is old enough for his own wheels, isnt he?

Happy Birthday Grandpa Romney

August 5th was grandpas bday. We had a party and a SUPERMAN pinata, the cousins came and it was great fun.
They lined up ready to hit the pinata when grandpa got a first swing and knocked the head off and that was it.
Ive never seen such disappointed kids around all the candy!

first day of Jr. High football.

Im sorry Remy this is your life with 3 older brothers, your days of watching sports and being on the sidelines have begun.
Cade is volunteer coaching a jr. high football team this years. This was the first day of practice. Gunner is playing also even though he is in 4th grade, and Tate is the official mascot. He does everything the big boys do minus a little hitting. Although he wants to hit.
