Dublan/Juarez easter hike (fullyloaded with pictures!)

Each Easter our ward has a "Easter Hike" I guess in the old days they used to hike, but now its just a picnic and egg hunt with games. This year it was decided to combine both the English speaking wards, and it was great! This is My friend Michele who was guarding her chocolate syrup with all she had in fear the teenagers would discover it and gulp it! She is pregnant with her 8th child. In the post below is her only son Reed, otherwise known as the "Golden Boy". We love Michele!

dublan beat our teenagers so Cade jumped in and saved it! I love doing things with these 2 wards. We have such a unique situation living down here we need to do it more often!

One year older and wiser...

Happy Birthday To Cade Yesterday.
We woke up early the first day of spring break to eat breakfast and open presents, then he spent his birthday fighting the wonderful wind at the farm. We had a hamburger fry with the family last night and it was a good day. We spent his day playing tennis, swimming, the boys went to swim in the pond and catch crodads in the ditch. Baylor and his gang boiled up about 30 crodads to eat along with their hamburgers last night. (GROSS) .
This beautiful asparagus tastes as good as it looks. This is his newest farming venture. Just something to give a little variety away from the chile.

Spring Break...

The past few weeks have been so busy Cades planting chile and cotton, harvesting asparagus, and shipping his hot sauce mash . The last few days with band concerts, childrens day, temple baptisms, ballet etc...I have been looking forward to being non scheduled and hanging out with my kids! The pool was filled this week and we have averaged 22 kids swimming each day, so yesterday was so nice to finally have a BREAK. My kids and I worked in the yard and planted a mini orchard. We planted 12 peach trees , grassed another area of our yard.(Not to mention the orange, lemon and 4 pear tress we planted last week!) And then went swimming, just us! For the next 2 1/2 weeks we are on SPRING BREAK . Our California cousins got here yesterday and the kids are thrilled, who knows we might just follow them back to California in a week . We are going to visit the Allen side of our family also. I think I am more excited about the break than the kids. Its nice to be refreshed.

Yesterday was the last ballet class for Remy, she loves to dance. The families were invited to watch , so we went. The girls looked beautiful! Notice how THRILLED the boys were to be there!

Dia de Los Ninos

These are pictures from the day. We dont have a track and field day at our school, this is just a fun day with fun races. The kids have fun and compete in silly things like the potato sack, wheel barrow, 3 legged race.
