The last football post of the year!

Last night was the TRIBE football banquet. We had a great season.  The cheerleaders and both football teams were there to celebrate.  Each player got a trophy and then a few special recognition awards were handed out.
Tate received the impact player award for the minor team and Gunner received the co MVP award with his running back Johnny Walker.Coach Louie who presented these awards gave a great tribute to the boys he said about Johnny and Gunner "These trophies go to the fastest boy in the city and the boy with the best hands in the region".  This was Tates first year playing and he came up to his dad afterwards just pleased with himself and said "Im ready to go to work for next year". Remy was excited about her first trophy! This picture of my kids was taken at 10:00 pm after a 4 hour banquet, they were exhausted!

My All-Stars.

about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving tate got a call from his football coach telling him that he was chosen for the all-star football team, he was ecstatic!  Gunner was also chosen from his team in the intermediate division.  There were 6 allstar teams from the el paso area in each division and each of those teams consisted of about 6 regular season teams.  5 players from each regular team made up the all star teams so it was really an honor to be chosen.  they practiced for 2 weeks and yesterday played in the tournament.

Tate played 2 games and lost the second game by 2 points.  He made some great tackles and looked so cute out on the field!  This was his first year ever playing football and he had so much fun!

Gunner kind of likes playing football too!  This is his team walking out he is the first in line.

Gunner played his heart out in these games.  His first game we won 22-6, he made 3 touchdowns in that game with a great pick 6.  although he did miss a catch that could have been another TD. The second game we won 6-0 he made 1 TD in that game. And we moved on to the championship We WON 14-6 and he made another 2 TDs in that game...I guess you could say he did well! It was an exciting,freezing, and exhausting day.

This is Gunner, his running back Johnny and his QB Angelo.  They had a great year and worked great together.  Lets hope these 3 get to play more together!

Remys dance recital.

Friday night we got to see Remy perform at the mall in her dance recital.  Her teacher Heather Taylor is great!  Remy is in the 7 and 8 year old class even though she is 5.  Heather has 4 classes but only the older 2 performed.  Remy loves to perform and is a natural on stage  (or at the mall)!   This is Remy with her 11 year old Friend Shaylee Johnstun. even though they are 6 years apart they love to play with each other!  And the last picture is of the girls talking to Santa.  This is as close as Remy will get to him so i had to take the picture!

gingerbread and more snow.

This is the result of putting the 12 year old in charge of the gingerbread houses.  I said to get a sheet cake pan tp put it on, he just got the cake pan and took pictures of his and Remys finished mini house.  They then destroyed it promptly and i found these pictures on my camera.  Tate however took his time as you can see by the bottom house and it is still displayed on my shelf!

Snow in El Paso

I never thought I snowed here, I was wrong!  These were taken at the beginning, Later that night our yard was covered, roads were closed, there were 300+ accidents because of it.  And the next day school was delayed because of the cold and ice!  Today 4 days later there is still snow on the yards across the street! Its been a cold week! 

Who needs an xbox.

Cade brought home a new computer the other day and the kids were kinda mad cause they thought he was going to get them a game box or something, We wont buy our kids the video game things because they have better things to dao, anyway i walked in on them the other night just laughing and having fun and this is what i saw.  they figured out you could record yourself and make funny faces.  I guess you can do fun things with a computer!

On to basketball.

there is no rest for us.  Baylor started freshman basketball the day after his last football game.  His knee was hurt but the coach told him he had heard he could play so he was on the team...That was amazing.  After about 2 weeks he was able to practice and after 1 day of practice he started in the first game! His team is 4-0 in league play right now.  Im glad that Him and Braxton Hatch both love sports.  These two are basically tied at the hip these days they go to early, early morning seminary  at 5:55 then on to basket ball  practice , school and then  to their personal trainers after school together. 

Allen family thanksgiving 2011

Meet my new niece Clara Emily Mitchell.  It was so much fun holding her and being with my whole family this Thanksgiving.  This is Remy with  cousin Crew They have great fun together!


Nonny and poppy were able to drive 30 minutes over to join our family for Thanksgiving dinner.  Thats amazing considering hes 92 and shes 91!
We had a suprise 60th birthday for my dad also.  his birthday was earlier in the month but due to our busy lives we couldnt get together until now.  Mom wrote words to our jingle bell boogie song and we all flashed mobbed him with it!

Matt and Michael made up another "Hannukah song"  I need to get the video of it from Chris.  They do that for each of our weddings, Cade wanted to be part of it too!

 On Saturday we took family pictures, It wasnt a bog ordeal like I though it would be this year. These are just a portion, the best ones will be sent out as Christma cards.
