Our first FULL day of Summer!!

School got out yesterday (yeah) So today we spent the day swimming, working, playing tennis, and this evening after another swim and trying to wakeboard in the pool, the boys threw tosses. Remy wanted to join in this time so she pulled out her basketball shorts long socks and put a pair of Tates cleats on and was ready!

Each day the boys are suppossed to throw 200 passes for practice, some days are better than others.

They played a little game this team against this team (we have cousin Teo for a few days)

And dad got distracted by the swallows that are building nests around our house. Each bird has a bounty of $2 set by Dad.

He wanted me to stop taking pictures of him, so I did. Happy summer. This weekend we are off for our first road trip of the summer and hopefully off to some place cooler and more humid!

Changing of the Guard.

Each year in the grade school the 6th grade kids with the highest GPAs are chosen to be in the escolta or the flag bearers. The student with the highest GPA actually holds the flag and each child next in order stands next to the flag and leads the pledge etc... For this next year Gunner is the flag holder. In this ceremony the 6th grade graduation class turns the flag over to the 5th graders. Its a high honor in MX to be in the escolta. And the kids have to learn the march and turns and all that jazz....Gunner was proud that they learned their routine almost perfect.

Saturday = LaKe DaY

As the summer heat began we began our Saturday at the Lake. Here in MX its a little different, we dont have to fight the crowds or worry about how many boats will be on the Lake. We are the only boat on the Lake. Its our own private paradise (when the wind isn't blowing and if you dont think about how many bodies are thrown by the narcos into the botoom of the lake!)

This particular Day we came out full force, with the dock that Brandon made the shades , the motos, the kayaks, the cousins and Pepe our own butler!

This is my MIL at almost 69 years she still does it great. Most are just wakeboarders now (Gunner is obsessed) But Patti and I still ski.

Every day at the lake is a great day, And with my new ski it makes it even funner!

Phoenix Temple groundbreaking.

I wasnt here on Saturday but thanks to my parents for sending pictures. This is a milestone in my life. I grew up in Phoenix, My parents instilled in me a great importance of attending the temple. My great grandfather was the Phoenix Stake President when the Mesa Temple was being built and under his leadership it was completed and dedicated. He was President of that Temple from 1960 to 1964. My grandparents(Nonny and Poppy) were the Mesa Temple President and Matron when I was in high school from 1988 to 1991. On Saturday my parents were one of the few people to be at the groundbreaking of the Phoenix Temple. My Nonny and Poppy were also there to turn the dirt. This Phoenix Temple has had ALOT of negative reactions from the community and thus this is why the groundbreaking is just now happening after 3 years or so of being announced. I am Thankful for Temples for the work that goes on inside of them. I am very lucky to live now only 100 steps from one here in Colonia Juarez, which is a miracle in itself for one being here. It will be exciting to see the finished Phoenix Temple.
